System thinker, workshop facilitator, requirements storyteller.
Hi! I am Olivia De Scheerder.
I'm currently a functional analyst with a product mindset. I started my career as a web developer, and I kept the habit of asking who will actually use what we build, and what they need from it to do their work well. This led me toward analysis and gave me a global view of the projects from the start through delivery and beyond.
In practice, that means eliciting needs from stakeholders, mapping current processes, spotting gaps and impacts, recommending options, and turning decisions into user stories with acceptance criteria and business rules. I keep requirements traceable and documentation clear, so everyone stays aligned from the first workshop to acceptance testing. Having built software myself, I know what makes a specification easy to implement, and what makes it easy to misread. I've worked in Scrum and SAFe environments, alongside Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
I'm an IIBA member, currently preparing the ECBA. The PSM I comes next.
Every solution starts with a need. I frame the problem, recommend the possible solutions that bring the most value, and write requirements that survive contact with reality.
Every step in the life of a feature matters. I focus on the ones that come before the code, and I follow them through to delivery: understanding the problem, exploring options, aligning people, and documenting what was decided.
I start from the problem: understanding the current state, spotting gaps, and measuring what a change will touch.
I run the workshops where needs get challenged, options compared, and priorities set around value.
I turn decisions into user stories, acceptance criteria and test scenarios that developers can build from and testers can verify.
I map processes and systems with diagrams, wireframes and prototypes, and keep documentation that outlives the project.
Having built web applications myself, I understand how the technical layers fit together, so my requirements respect the architecture and my questions reach developers in their own language.
